They have been doing this since 2007 when Swiss globetrotter Maximilian Scharl and the stylist Jan Pauwels of Belgian origin, have met in Moroccan Agadir. Sun, sea, beach turned out to be a good source of inspiration and they translated their passion for fashion and design into the Max and Jan brand. The first shop was opened in this coastal town and due to the great success shops followed in Sofitel hotels throughout Morocco. A branch in the tourist capital Marrakech could not fail!

Their brand can be labeled as ethnic with a touch of chic flair. The traditional Moroccan fashion is used as a sketch. In collaboration, they design beautiful collections with a team of young Moroccan designers according to the theme of their vision. Local artisans transform the designs into high-quality pieces and with this Max and Jan contribute to the Fair Trade production in Morocco.
