The Atay  café  Marrakech opened its doors a few years ago. It is located in the trendy north of the medina where you can discover various cultural attractions such as the Palace aka museum Dar el  Bacha. You can also do fantastic shopping at various boutiques. Don’t miss out on the trendy concept store of Max & Jan.  The  Atay  café is located diagonally opposite.

It is a wonderful place to relax. The roof terrace in particular has a pleasant vibe  and good lounge spots. Wicker lamps and nice cushions combined with plants make it very cozy. The terrace offers a spectacular view over the medina, the Ben Youssef mosque and with clear weather even on the Atlas Mountains. The name suggests that it is a tea house (atay means tea) but you can also go here for a nice meal and a fresh fruit juice.

The menu

The menu offers various dishes such as a delicious meal salad with avocado, traditional dishes such as couscous or a tajine kefta. But their real specialty is the pastilla. A delicious dish made of puff pastry filled with spiced chicken and sweet almonds. This puff pastry dish is served with cinnamon and icing sugar, creating a surprising combination of flavors. Highly recommended!

If you are a bit tired of Moroccan food, you can also opt for a sandwich or a delicious hamburger. Do indicate whether you want your burger medium or baked through. Don’t miss Atay  café  Marrakech during your city trip!
