Meet Madame “Lalla Marrakech”

When the Frenchwoman Laetitia Trouillet describes herself in 5 distinctive words: Happy, Bohemian, Mother, Lalla, and Marrakech, it makes you curious who this fascinating woman is. And who is responsible for designing a beautiful bag collection? Her interest in fashion and art started at a young age and became and she completed an Art History study in Bordeaux. The French coastal town no longer satisfied her and she exchanged it for the metropolis London. She has settled here in search of adventure and self-development. A tour of Morocco inspired her creative outlook on fashion and at her return home to London, she continued to develop her new dream. She starts as a real Bohemian who follows her feelings, with a stall at the famous Portobello Market and sells vintage Moroccan stuff, bags, and accessories.

A line of bags based on their own designs soon followed and she has them made in Morocco. Her designer bags carry the chic name Lalla Marrakech and are a nice reference to “madam”, the Arabic meaning of the word. The target group of women who want a special and contemporary bag was drawn to her style. The sale of her collections at Paul & Joe, Coco Ribbon in Nottinghill, and also Topshop ensures that Laetitia puts her name on the map and becomes a successful “Lalla”. To be closer to the handmade production process she decides to move to Marrakech. In the meantime, the stilettos have been exchanged for comfortable flats, because the bustling Marrakech leaves her moving between the Queliz district, the souk streets in the medina, and hotels as a styling consultant. Think of hotels such as the Four Seasons Boutique Hotel and the legendary La Maamounia. And she does this by strolling through her new African city where she has lived since 2005. So many years later and she still loves it!
