Anima Garden Marrakech: Creating the soul of art

Farmlands at the foot of the Atlas Mountains are fed by the water from the Mountains. Where is water there is life! And where is life there is a soul! The Moroccan population has long mastered the technique of smart using the water through irrigation. For example, a vacant lot of 3 hectares in a dry environment of Marrakesh can blossom into the beautiful Anima Garden Marrakech!

The founder of this garden is the Austrian Andre Heller, a successful centipede in the fields of art, theatre, and poetry. His dream to create a place where nature and art merge came true. The name Anima (soul) is very appropriate because when you walk around the garden the deeper meaning of this name in all kinds of aspects emerges: the limitlessness of a soul with a passion.

This special garden has been opened in 2016 after 6 years of construction. The palm trees provide shade, so even at higher temperatures, you can walk on the paths. The special cacti, formed by Mother Nature, are all worth photographing. Different wildflowers grow per season too, among other things, allowing bees to make delicious honey, with the water rippling peacefully in between.

Andre Heller has succeeded particularly well in integrating his love for contemporary art into the garden. The works of art by unknown and well-known artists blend surprisingly well with the oasis of green nature. The tastefully decorated garden plan gives Picasso’s artwork an almost modest yet stately allure with the impressive High Atlas as a backdrop.

Your soul will be stimulated by your senses during a visit to the Anima Garden!
